ART FOR ART'S SAKE

I was at times a professional photographer and a graphic artist. Life is art, remember... or living and breathing art is a state of being. I'm not the best at what I do, but I am the best at judging what works or doesn't work for me, and I reserve the right to decide when the time is appropriate to change my mind about the verdict or not. Life is a dilemma if you haven't noticed, and like in the case of overlapping realities, it is best to exist in the eye of the storm where the calm allows the observer full vista. I digress... In a nutshell, it's cheaper to do your own cover design if you can, or in my case, if you have enough confidence to humor the self. My CD jackets have gone through many incarnations, and though I am unsure of the longevity of the present forms, they are at what I consider the stable stage. But enough said, here they come in no particular order:

So there you have it...

Armed with  both film and digital cameras, Rapidograph ink pens in hand plus some traveling and a lot of years, I arrived at these 14 or so record covers. Criminal Records is my personal label, only one artist and one slave at the press. I like the name, it has a certain "noire" allure to it. I used to co-own a publishing co (Mission Blue/BMI) and another record label (Whorl Records) and they may be mentioned on some of the sleeves, but for the time being my songs go by FV Tunes/ASCAP (though it may say FV Music on the older covers.) And that's about all for now, friends, until the next CD, of course!
